Maldives reaches 3,793 confirmed Covid-19 cases
 
2,607 patients have recovered from the virus

74 new cases reported on Friday

Maldives recorded 74 new Covid-19 cases on Friday, including 44 locals.

According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), the new cases also include 19 Bangladeshis, eight Indians as well as one Sri Lankan, Nepalese and Filipino national.

70 of the cases were detected from the greater Malé region, while the remaining four are from outlying islands.

While the new cases were confirmed from the 860 samples tested within 24 hours, this pushes the country’s total case count to 3,793.

Further, with an additional 39 recoveries, 2,607 patients have recovered from the virus in the island nation.

While the country has seen 16 deaths to Covid-19 thus far, there are 1,155 active cases currently.

65 patients are currently receiving treatment at hospitals, with 709 people in isolation facilities.
