An 89-year-old woman died on Tuesday morning

An 89-year-old Covid-19 patient has passed away in the Maldives.

This was revealed by the Health Protection Agency (HPA) on Tuesday morning and the deceased is a Maldivian woman.

She was in isolation at a facility in Hulhumalé and HPA revealed that she passed away a little past 6am on Tuesday.

This is the seventh coronavirus-related death in the island nation and the fourth Maldivian to have succumbed to the infection.

The sixth Covid-19 related death was reported on Monday afternoon, when a 54-year-old Bangladeshi Covid-19 patient passed away.

Maldives has seen a total of 1,829 Covid-19 infections thus far out of which 32.26% are Maldivians, with 590 having tested positive so far.
