Supreme Court advises parliament to amend the constitution, to prolong the terms of the current Councillors.
In a 19-page document publicized by the apex court, all five judges unanimously gave out a ruling. The advise given by the court stated that all amendments brought to the constitution must be brought in line with the articles stated in chapter 12 of the constitution.
The court advised the parliament to amend the constitution by adding a transitional article to the Constitution, instead of amending article 4, amendment of the constitution, as proposed by the state.
