Maldives has reported 15 more recoveries from the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19).
The Covid-19 dashboard by the Ministry of Health, reveals that the number of recovered Covid-19 patients in the island nation currently sits at 144, while the number was at 128, earlier on Sunday.
While authorities have stressed that the recovery rate is slower than they had initially predicted, stating that recovery is observably taking an average of 17 days, recoveries reported have observably increased within the past 10 days.
The country’s Covid-19 recovery rate has risen to 10.50% and the mortality rate is currently at 0.29%, with the four Covid-19 fatalities recorded in the Maldives thus far.
There are currently 12 Covid-19 patients hospitalized and 1,221 active cases. As of 12am Monday, there have been 1,371 confirmed infections in the island nation.
Earlier, the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) reported that most recoveries recorded in the country are Maldivians.
Out of the recoveries, 13 are foreigners from resorts, and these cases were reported prior to the discovery of the community transmission in the Maldives capital, Malé City which resulted in a lockdown across the Greater Malé Region.
