Maldives Covid-19 case count rises to 1,216
 
The cases have been increasing since the community transmission was discovered on April 15
 
This includes 14 Maldivians, 10 Bangladeshi nationals and six Indians
 
30 new cases were confirmed

30 additional cases of the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) has been confirmed in the Maldives.

The Health Protection Agency revealed that the new cases reported on Thursday afternoon include 14 Maldivians, 10 Bangladeshi nationals and six Indians.

This pushes the country's Covid-19 case count to 1,216.

Maldives capital Malé City was locked down following the confirmation of the first-ever community transmission on April 15 and since then, cases have been on the rise.
