The 15 ventilators donated to the Maldives by Singaporean billionaire, Ong Beng Seng, Hotel Properties Ltd, have arrived in the Maldives.

This was revealed by the Maldives Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid on Monday night, where he took to Twitter, expressing gratitude to Ong for the generous donation. He added that Ong’s generosity towards the Maldivian people at this hour of great need will not be forgotten.

Further, the Singaporean billionaire also donated 150,000 face masks to the island nation which is set to arrive on May 13.

Coming in the 15th spot of the Singapore’s richest persons list, Ong’s Hotel Properties owns several resorts in the Maldives.

In a separate Tweet, the minister noted that Maldives received a donation of 5,000 face masks by Ng Swan Meen and Joseph Ng from Hiap Huat Paints Co. of Singapore to assist the Maldives in it’s Covid-19 response efforts.

The Foreign Minister thanked Ng Swan Meen and Hiap Huat Paints Co. for the kindness and assistance extended.

Alongside Singapore, governments of several countries are providing assistance to the Maldives in it’s Covid-19 response efforts. As such, China and India have also donated consignments of medical supplies and essentials to the Maldives. Further, very recently, the owners of Velaa Island Resort also delivered a consignment of essentials to the Maldivian people.
