Authorities have revealed that a total of 185 individuals arrived in Maldives capital Malé City over the past four days.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen revealed that these arrivals were from resorts, islands and safari boats.
He added that there are certain protocols that are followed when allowing arrivals into the locked down capital.
As such, authorities will check if individuals are arriving from islands that have been placed under monitoring due to the Covid-19 situation.
We give the permission after checking a few things. As such we check if the island is under monitoring, isolated or quarantined. We also check contact identification"Ismail Naveen, Assistant Commissioner of Police![]()
While arrivals will be checked for contact identification, authorities will also be inquiring them about their stay in the capital.
As such, while a number of houses in the Greater Malé Region have been brought under monitoring or quarantined, authorities are to check if arrivals will be staying at such households.
