The government has once again opened the opportunity for families to send care packages to their loved ones in quarantine facilities.

Speaking during the press briefing on Friday night at the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC), Covid-19 spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Aziz confirmed that the opportunity has been opened again.

Mabrook revealed that the care packages will be collected at Kalaafaanu School this time.

As such, packages will be collected from 11am to 3pm on Saturdays and Wednesdays.

The government has established quarantine facilities across several islands and resorts of the Maldives and work is currently underway to establish more facilities as well.

Earlier, Mabrook had revealed that the Maldivians stranded abroad will be brought back to the country in accordance with space availability at these quarantine facilities. Since then, over 1,000 Maldivians have been brought back and all returnees are required to undergo a quarantine period of 14 days before being tested and released.
