Maldives has reported the first Covid-19 case of an elderly.

While 15 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed from the country's capital on Monday thus far, Dr. Nazla Rafeeq revealed that one of the patients is over 60 years of age at a press conference held at the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) in the afternoon.

The patient is believed to be a Bangladeshi national.

Some of the cases reported on Monday include patients who had tested positive after consulting at the flu clinic following the exhibition of symptoms, and individuals who had been active in delivering orders at local shops, as well as direct contacts of previously confirmed cases.

A total of nine Maldivians and two Bangladeshi and four Indian nationals are among the 15 positive cases thus far on Monday.
