The country’s national airline, Maldivian has brought over 11 tonnes of cargo goods from Bangkok, Thailand.

The goods were brought from Bangkok and the airbus cargo freighter landed at Velana International Airport (VIA) on Thursday night.

Maldivian revealed that 11,323.3 kilograms of cargo was brought from the southeast Asian nation, as part of the airline’s efforts to import cargo through several chartered flights at a time borders across the globe are closing due to the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, sweeping across the globe at a dangerous rate.

On an earlier occasion, the national airline brought 10 tonnes of cargo goods to Maldives via Thailand, Trivandrum and Chennai of India as well as Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
