Discussions have been held regarding the implementation of additional measures in the government’s efforts to fight the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak in the country.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih gathered the task-force assembled to tackle the Covid-19 situation on Sunday.
The meeting was held on Sunday night at the President’s Office and was joined by members of the task-force alongside stakeholders from relevant authorities.
Discussions mainly revolved around how the task-force may implement further measures in their efforts to stop the disease from spreading across the nation, said the President’s Office.
Thus far, there have been 13 confirmed cases in the Maldives; 5 from Kuredu Island Resort and two each from Sandies Bathala, Kuramathi, Anantara Dhigu and a safari boat, Island Safari 1.
Three of the positive patients have recovered from the virus in recent days, where no more positive cases have emerged.
As the government has announced a state of public health emergency, authorities have been implementing vital measures in order to limit public gatherings and ensure social distancing.
