The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has announced its decision to launch a probe into Family Court Judge Huzaifa Mohamed.

The commission released a statement on Wednesday, revealing that they have assembled an investigative committee to probe two cases submitted under Article 22.1 (e) of the Judicial Service Commission Act.

JSC is to launch probes into disciplinary cases involving Judge Huzaifa and Chief Magistrate of the Gan Magistrate Court, Abdul Fahthah Abdul Ghafoor.

Details have not been revealed by the commission, yet.

While the commission has made the announcement, it also received a case regarding Judge Huzaifa during June 2019. as well

Back then, the Family Court judge was accused of making false statements and attempting to frame an employee of the court. The employee was dismissed after the case was filed under accusations of “sexual harassment”. He claimed that the court’s administrative division, budget and HR were involved in illegal activities.

A few weeks later in July 2019, JSC decided not to look into the complaint filed against Judge Huzaifa, citing that there was “no basis” for the allegation.
