The current MP for Thimarafushi constituency, Abdulla Riyaz has fired back at criticism from his predecessor, former MP for the constituency, Mohamed Musthafa regarding the current government’s development agenda.
The former Thimarafushi MP claimed that it has been over a year since the sewerage system installation in Veymandoo island in Thaa atoll has been at a standstill, going on to claim that the “government is unable to do anything”.
Further, spiting the current MP, Musthafa asserted that “performing shows” in the People’s Majlis does not ensure the rights of the citizens.
Musthafa went on to claim that the current government will not build a causeway between Veymandoo and Kinbidhoo, accusing MP Riyaz of being “incapable” of carrying out projects.
There is nothing the government can do!”Ex-MP Musthafa
Firing back at the accusations, MP Riyaz wrote a Twitter post in Dhivehi, assuring that the current administration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will complete the water sanitation and sewerage system project in Veymandoo.
He further wrote that “constituents have decided to watch the 19th parliament’s show”, urging Musthafa to sit by the television screen as well.
Riyaz’s tweet ends with him extending good wishes for Musthafa’s “deteriorating” businesses to be resolved soon.
Further, the current MP stated that the current government will not brush aside any citizen, adding that water sanitation and sewerage systems will be established across all inhabited islands before the end of the term.
The president places high priority in fulfilling his pledges to the people, Riyaz added.
