Membership opportunities have been opened once again, for applications to the vacant seat at the Maldives Broadcasting Commission (MBC).
The President’s Office on Monday began accepting applications for the seventh and final position at the commission, following a request by the parliament’s committee on independent institutions to open applications for the position a second time.
While deadline for submitting applications has been set at 2pm on 16 December, a Monday, those interested in applying for the position may download the form from the office’sofficial website.
Broadcom comprises of seven members out of which four became vacant after Fathmath Zaina’s removal and three members, including President Mohamed Shaheeb’s resignation. Earlier in December, Mariyam Waheedha was elected as the commission’s President, Ahmed Gais as Vice President and Ali Yoosuf as a member.
The commission is tasked with ensuring that broadcasters comply with the Broadcasting Act.
