He was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital
A 59-year-old man was attacked and killed in Hulhumalé on Wednesday night.
He was stabbed to death.
Police said that it received a report, at around 9:07pm, after a man was found lying on the ground. A photo circulating shows a man lying face down, in a puddle of blood.
The man is to have been transferred to Hulhumalé Hospital when officers arrived at the scene.
He was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital, police informed.
RaajjeMV understands that the 59-yo worked as a taxi driver, and was attacked by gang members.
Police are investigating the murder.
