CLEAN Maldives has announced a tree-planting campaign titled "Go Green" in collaboration with Seenu Landscape Nursery, to be held in Hulhumale' Phase 2.
The event to 'Plant a Tree, Save a Life' is set for December 7 and is open to the public.
The organizers plan to plant a total of 2,000 trees, which includes a 1,000 palm trees and 1000 beach plum (Dhivehi: Magoo) trees.
Their aim is to "make Maldives a greener place".
According to CLEAN Maldives, the event will also feature stalls selling a variety of plants.
They have also encouraged participants to bring their own water bottles in an effort to make the event as environmentally friendly as possible.
The event is sponsored by Housing Development Corporation (HDC) and therefore, HDC will be digging the soil where the trees will be planted.
CLEAN Maldives is an NGO established with the objective of raising awareness for environmental protection within the Maldivian society.
