Maldives simultaneous free-diving record is officially on the Guinness World Records book.

The country set the record for the most people freediving simultaneously on October 1, with a total of 521 individuals participating.

Maldives’ leader, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih participated in the dive as well, which took place in Baros Maldives

The Guinness World Record attempt, which was named ‘Neyvaa’, was organized as part of the World Tourism Day 2019 celebrations.

The world record was previously held by ‘La Scuola del Mare 2’ (Verona), in Torri del Benaco, Verona. Verona had set the world record for the most people freediving simultaneously on October 11 2009 with 280 people.
