As part of his tour across the southernmost atolls, Speaker of Parliament, former President Mohamed Nasheed arrived in Addu City on Saturday.
This is the last stop in the southernmost atolls tour, whicH began from Thinadhoo island of Gaaf Dhaal atoll on Wednesday.
Nasheed was received with a warm welcome upon his arrival in Addu on Saturday afternoon.
Further, the ruling coalition leader visited the new campaign site of main ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) and met with some of the party members.
Nasheed is set to inaugurate in the FENAKA Futsal Tournament scheduled to be held at 4pm in the island’s Youth Stadium on Saturday.
The speaker is also set to participate in the conclusion of the rowing tournament held in association with the Rowing Association.
Nasheed is accompanied by a group of several MPs representing the atolls, during the trip.
Some of the highlights of his tour include visiting Villingili island in Gaaf Alif atoll on Thursday where he actively participated in the Southermost-atolls’ Councilors Conference, where a number of proposals were passed and is set to be forwarded to the Parliament floor.
