FENAKA Corporation’s Managing Director Ahmed Saeed has revealed that the new engine houses will be established with the latest technology.
Speaking at the ceremony held to inaugurate the construction of the new engine house in Villingili island of Gaaf Alif atoll, Saeed revealed that this is the 22nd project for constructing engine houses across the Maldives thus far this year.
He expressed hope that the company will be able to commence work on 30 out of the total 63 construction of engine houses within the year.
Further, Saeed said that 63 generators have been supplied across the outlying islands thus far since the new government inaugurated in November 2018, adding that the company has completed the synchronization process for all the engine houses except the ones on three islands, thus far.
Updating the public on some of the projects marked to provide efficiency for the people in the future, Saeed said that FENAKA is working to generate renewable energy in engine houses across the nation by 75 percent, within the next five years.
FENAKA is also working to introduce an application that will allow users to pay their bills efficiently, wherever they are located and to reduce prices for electricity bills.
The first stone at the engine house to be constructed in Gaaf Alif atoll was laid down by Speaker of Parliament, former President Mohamed Nasheed.
