The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is ready to assist the Maldives in its development endeavors, says Ambassador-Designate of UAE to Maldives, Dr Saeed Mohamed Ali Al Shamsi.
During a courtesy call paid to Vice President Faisal Naseem at the President’s Office on Wednesday morning, Ambassador Shamsi noted that strengthening collaboration between both countries will further assist in boosting economic ties between Maldives and UAE.
Further, he highlighted the efforts undertaken to initiate work at the newly established Embassy of UAE in Maldives.
While the Ambassador has shed light on the number of Maldivians seeking employment in the middle-eastern country ranging from the shipping industry to tourism, VP Naseem had expressed gratitude on behalf of the government and people for the continue aid and support from the government of UAE to Maldives and its people.
In addition, Ambassador Shamsi expressed keenness to work with the Maldives in collaboration to further enhance bilateral ties shared between both countries.
Speaking at the meeting, VP Naseem highlighted that work is currently underway on several mega development projects in Maldives and that it looks forward to development projects in the education sector as well as healthcare to promote impartiality among the people.
VP Naseem further shed light on the importance of establishing care facilities for the elderly and fostering sympathy towards the elderly and persons with disabilities, among the people.
