A forty-two-year-old fisherman was injured after getting a fish-hook lodged in his eye and is currently being treated at Lhaviyanu Atoll Hospital in Naifaru.

The man was fishing on a boat named "Handhuvaree" when the incident took place.

According to the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF), the man was initially treated on the boat in the northern area before being transferred to Naifaru.

The man is currently in a stable condition after being treated for his injuries.
