Local textiles shop Sindhitha’s office has been broken into.
Robbers broke into two safes in the office, and took took around MVR 30,000 and USD 4,700.
Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that they received reports of the break-in a little past 9am on Thursday and that they have since launched investigations into the case.
Police have not made any arrests into the case yet.
The shop, located in Sosun Magu of capital city Malé, is known to be one of the biggest textile importers, but also retails a range of perfumes, body care products and clothing among a variety of other products.
