Three years after it was inaugurated, Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has completed the harbor development project in Madifushi island of Thaa atoll.

While the project was mobilized and commenced in March 2016, the company announced that it was completed on 11 September 2019.

Under the project, the company dredged 19,808 cubic meters of existing basin, 402 cubic meters of existing channel, constructed a 256-meter breakwater, a 20-meter revetment, and a 357-meter quay wall along with block installation.

Further, the completed project included the installation of two beacons, construction of a harbor pavement measuring 1,010 square meters and the supplying and preservation of mooring rings.

MTCC revealed that the project in Madifushi island cost MVR 52,960,321.
