Efforts to promote and protect the rights of children have been discussed with local NGO, Advocating the Rights of Children (ARC).
The NGO’s management met with Vice President Faisal Naseem on Sunday during which challenges the organization faces in their efforts in the cause were shared.
Further, they updated the VP on their progress towards promoting children’s rights in the society as well as preventing child abuse and neglect.
ARC expressed interest to conduct programmes towards the cause for children under state care, during the meeting.
Expressing gratitude for the role ARC plays in advocating for children’s rights, especially those with special needs, VP Naseem highlighted the role of civil societies in voicing said rights.
VP Naseem assured the organization on behalf of the government, full commitment to support their work.
The non-partisan and non-profit NGO aims to work to protect and promote children’s rights, their well-being and working closely with shelters, advocating awareness through national and international outreach programmes.
