Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment Ahmed Mahloof has celebrated International Youth Day in Noonu Velidhoo with United Nations Youth Envoy Jayathma Wickramanayake.
The Sports Minister and the UN Youth Envoy joined the Youth Day celebrations in Velidhoo on Monday.
In a tweet, Minister Mahloof said they will be working to provide better and more opportunities for youth and to increase their participation in decision making.
International Youth Day is an awareness day designated by the United Nations. The purpose of the day is to draw attention to a given set of cultural and legal issues surrounding the youth.
This year’s theme is “Transforming Education” to highlight the efforts to make education more inclusive and accessible for all youth.
