The Maldives government has stated that it considers the decision taken by the Government of India regarding Article 370 of the Indian Constitution as an internal matter.
In a press statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Maldives government stated that it believes that it is the right of every sovereign nation to amend their laws as required.
The Parliament of India has passed the resolution to revoke Article 370, which had given the state of Jammu and Kashmir significant autonomy from the rest India.
Mobile phone networks, landlines and internet access were cut off from Kashmir after the Indian government made the announcement to strip the regions of its special status.
