Dhiraagu has revealed that their annual road race will be held on 20 September, Friday.
The international event, accredited by Dhiraagu, revolves around the motto “Protecting the Rights of Children” this year as well.
Just like previous years, “Dhiraagu Road Race 2019” will also be held in Hulhumalé and runners will be divided into two categories, five kilometers and 10 kilometers respectively.
Registration for the biggest race of the year is opened to all NGOs and associations protecting the rights of children, from Tuesday till Saturday.
Dhiraagu will be publicizing details of all registered NGOs via a website dedicated for the road race.
All the runners registered this year will be divided into all the registered NGOs, five out of which have the greatest number of runners will be awarded a total of MVR 200,000.
The event, established in 2007, that has immense praise from locals and is one of the most popular events in the country, is carried out with the involvement of all age groups.
Runners under the five-kilometers category are required to be older than seven years of age by 1 September and those under the 10-kilometer category are required to be over 16 by the same date.
This is the 13th year Dhiraagu is hosting this event.
