Minister of Gender and Social Service Shidhatha Shareef has been summoned to Monday’s parliament sitting.
Faresmaathodaa MP Hussain Mohamed Latheef proposed to question the Gender Minister over the case of Shaim Abdulla.
The 14-year-old went missing from state care on June 18 and was found on July 1.
The Gender Minister was heavily criticized over the incident, and she has said that Shaim had fled from the children’s shelter and that authorities had taken immediate steps to find him.
She also said they are working to provide better protection for children under state custody.
