Main ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)’s Parliamentary Group on Wednesday forwarded Thulhaadhoo constituency MP Hisaan Hussain’s name for membership at the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).

This was done after the PG passed to forward her name with the majority of members present at the PG meeting on Wednesday morning, voting in favor.

The prominent lawyer who has a Masters in the legal sector first worked at the Attorney General’s office. In 2007 she left the AG office and worked at her own law firm until 2008 when MDP’s first government was inaugurated. She was then appointed as Legal Affairs Minister at the President’s Office.

Hisaan also took on legal cases of many politicians some of whom include current Parliament Speaker and former President Mohamed Nasheed, former Parliament Speaker and member for Maamigili constituency and ruling coalition leader Qasim Ibrahim.

The lawyer also took on cases of former Commissioner of Police and Thimarafushi MP Abdulla Riyaz, Minister at the President’s Office, Mohamed Shifaz as well as former Chief Justice Abdulla Saeed.
