Over 1,000 people fined for parking violations last week
 
MPS statistics show that 1,082 people had been fined for parking violations last week

The Maldives Police Service’s (MPS) traffic unit has revealed that they fined over 1,000 people for parking violations last week.

Their statistics show that 1,082 people had been fined for parking violations, and a total of 474 vehicles were stopped and searched for compliance with regulation.

The traffic police had also fined 64 people for driving without a road license, 44 people were fined for driving without their license, 10 people were fined for not having vehicle insurance, 16 were fined for not paying the annual fees for their vehicle.

Further, five minors were also stopped while 18 people were stopped for speeding. The weekly numbers also show that three people were stopped for providing unlicensed taxi services as well.
