The Palestinian Ambassador–Designate, Walid A.M. Abu Ali, has presented his credentials to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
Ambassador Ali presented his credentials at a ceremony at the President’s Office on Sunday.
At the ceremony, President Solih welcomed the Ambassador to the Maldives and congratulated him on his appointment.
The President noted that Palestine holds a special place in the hearts of Maldivians and reiterated Maldives’ support for Palestine’s efforts to gain formal UN recognition for its statehood.
Ambassador Ali conveyed warm sentiments to President Solih on behalf of Mahmoud Abbas, the President of Palestine, and said that it was his pleasure to be able to represent the people of Palestine in the Maldives.
The Ambassador reiterated his commitment to further developing the friendly cooperation between the two countries, and conveyed his gratitude to President Solih for the support the Maldives has always extended to the people of Palestine.
