A suspect in the mugging of an individual carrying the sum of MVR 50,000 on a road in capital city Malé has been arrested.
The police say that the 20-year-old was arrested on Thursday night, shortly after the incident occurred.
The individual had allegedly threatened another, an expatriate, on Lansimu Road, and forcing him to hand over the money.
The suspect was arrested by police officers patrolling the area at the time.
