President promises better health care services across the nation
A good health care system would be achieved through awareness on the diseases that are spreading

The country’s health care system shall be developed focusing on a universal health coverage which will ensure that all communities have access to quality and affordable health services when required, says President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

President Solih made this statement in his message to the people in commemoration of World Health Day 2019.

In his message, Solih urged the people to embrace an active lifestyle and build an inclusive health care system together.

Highlighting that access to quality health care service is a basic right guaranteed to every citizen, President Solih stated that Maldives has been following this for a long time.

In addition, the President highlighted that Maldives has been providing a large number of health care services for free, including vaccination for expecting mothers and children.

Solih went on to stress on the importance of creating awareness among the people on wide-spreading diseases, adding that preventive measures are important.

The government is working to ensure better services are made available in remote areas and to bring an efficient process to those who take treatment for long-term health issues.
