Elections Commission has announced the times voting will take place for the Parliamentary Elections 2019.
While the elections will be held on 6 April, voting will commence on 8am and conclude at 4pm, EC revealed via a twitter post on Monday.
The commission also revealed that voting will take place in India from 08:30 am to 04:30 pm in neighboring India and Sri Lanka while voting in Malaysia will take place from 11am to 7pm and from 09:30 am to 05:30 pm in the United Kingdom. Voting will take place during the country’s respective times.
While EC has confirmed that the elections will commence as planned on the 6th of April, there has been recent reports that the opposition is attempting to delay it as opposition candidates are not well prepared.
264،589 are eligible to vote in the elections for Parliament’s 19th tenure and EC will be placing a total of 507 ballot boxes across the nation and abroad.
A total of 395 candidates are to contest for 87 seats in Parliament.
