The new head office of Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) has officially been opened for services on Wednesday.
MIB’s new head office inaugurated by Minister of Finance and Treasury Ibrahim Ameer.
During the ceremony held on Wednesday evening, Minister Ameer said that the Islamic Bank, established in 2011, is a massive progress for the banking system in the Maldives.
Congratulating the bank for its many achievements since its establishment, Minister Ameer stated that the current administration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih wishes to see Maldives become the hub of Islamic financing in the region.
He further emphasized that the government will always provide its support to achieve this.
Banking services were made available from two outlets from MIB previously.
While MIB revealed that many of their customers had complained of difficulties, all services will now be available under the same roof at their new head office.
The office is located in Medhuziyaaraaiydhoshuge in Henveiru ward of capital city Malé near Mulee’aage.
The ceremony was joined by MIB’s Managing Director Abdul Muhaimin, Speaker of Parliament, Qasim Ibrahim as well as seniors at several state institutions.
