The government of United Arab Emirates (UAE) is keen to enhance trade and cooperation with Maldives, reiterates newly appointed Ambassador of UAE to the Maldives, Dr. Saeed Mohamed Ali Al Shamsi.
Ambassador Shamsi made the statement during a ceremony held at the President’s Office on Monday afternoon in which he presented his credentials to Maldives President, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
During his call, Ambassador Shamsi expressed his eagerness to strengthen collaboration in the tourism sector partly by increasing flight connectivity.
The ambassador had thanked the government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives for their extremely helpful assistance throughout the ongoing process of finding a suitable permanent chancery.
Congratulating Ambassador Shamsi on becoming the first resident ambassador of the UAE to Maldives, President Solih welcomed the commencement of his term.
Ambassador Shamsi had also expressed his positive expectation that the friendship existing between Maldives and UAE will further cement in the year ahead.
