The Maldives Immigration has announced it will now be processing requests for expatriate employment approvals within 48 hours. 

An immigration official said that if all document papers are valid and complete, the workers will be approved within this duration. . 

If papers are incomplete or documents invalid, the Maldives Immigration will be contacting the applicant, the official said. 

The official further said that the change is part of the department’s ongoing work to improve their services. 

Maldives has a high number of expatriate workers, with most of them coming from Bangladesh, India, and Sri Lanka.
