The government of Maldives is fully committed to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)’s goals and objectives, assured Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid.
During the meeting held with the Secretary General of the OIC, Dr Yousef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen on the sidelines of the meeting with the Foreign Minister of United Arab Emirates, Minister Shahid reassured him of the Maldives' full participation in the activities of the OIC.
Before concluding his trip after the end of the 46th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers on Sunday, Minister Shahid met with a number of bilateral partners as well.

They include Foreign Ministers from Palestine, India, Bangladesh, Romania, Jordan, Kuwait, Kosovo, Afghanistan, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, and delegations from Iraq and Serbia, revealed the Maldives Foreign Ministry.

With the 46th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers, Minister Shahid and his delegation returned to Maldives on Sunday morning.
The session concluded with the adoption of a number of resolutions and most importantly, the Abu Dhabi Declaration.
The meeting is held annually and is a gathering of foreign ministers of the Member States of the OIC.
The 47th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers is set to be held in the Republic of the Niger in 2020.
