Bank of Maldives (BML) has won the Excellence in Training and Development Award.
BML received the award at the World HRD Congress at the 6th Global Training and Development Leadership Awards held in Mumbai, India.
BML was recognized for establishing a culture of learning and implementing policies to develop and retain talent.
BML stated that it offers a competitive environment to progress personal and career development with monthly training sessions for staff across the nationwide network, a Kiyavama program to further education in relevant fields, and the recent launch of BML Riveli to offer staff and other interested parties to develop their banking skills.
The bank has also carried out the first year of the BML Graduate Internship Program for young graduates to gain on-the-job experience.
BML’s People and Change Director, Sahar Waheed said: “It is with pride that we accept this Award which recognizes the Bank’s commitment to people excellence and our policies that promote and foster continuous learning. I would like to thank the Human Resources team and the managers across the Bank for their effort in building a highly capable, content and motivated workforce.”
BML is the largest bank and one of the largest employers in the Maldives, with the vast majority of its staff base being Maldivians.
It has received the “Asia’s Best Employer Brand Award” for the second consecutive year, in recognition of its progressive human resource policies and practices.
