Maldives Minister of Foreign Affairs has expressed his confidence that the existing bilateral, economic and cultural relations between Maldives and Egypt will flourish in the future.
He said this in his felicitations sent to Sameh Shokry, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt and his people upon the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between both countries.
FM Shahid stated that he is confident relations will enhance in coming years through close cooperation in bilateral and multilateral for the benefit of both countries.
Emphasizing that the relationship between Maldives and Egypt has strengthened “immensely” over the past 50 years, FM Shahid expressed appreciation and gratitude on behalf of the government and people of Maldives for the “generous” support contributed on Egypt’s behalf for the Maldives' socio-economic and human resource growth.
Diplomatic relations were established between Maldives and Egypt 12 February 1969.
