MNDF launches search for missing boat 'Unity'

Missing boat - MNDF

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF)’s Coast Guard begins searching for a boat that went missing near Filladhoo island in Haa Alif atoll in late January.

“Unity” set off for fishing with 13 individuals onboard on 25 January, and was reported missing to the MNDF CG Maritime Rescue Coordination Center a little past 2pm on 1 February.

MNDF had received reports that the boat was last spotted fishing near Kelaa in the same atoll, on 29 January.

“Unity” measures 30-feet long and is coated in navy blue.

MNDF requests all to approach them through toll-free number 191 or their hotlines 3395981 or 3398898 if any information regarding the missing boat is attained.
