President's Office refuses to reveal commission allowance

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has established two commissions and two committees

Allowances paid to the committees and the commissions are different

The President’s Office has refused to reveal details of allowances paid to presidential inquiry commissions and committees.

Spokesperson Hoodh Ibrahim said on Tuesday that he ‘cannot reveal any information’ on the allowances paid to the commissions and various other committees.

However, Hoodh said that the allowances paid to the committees and the commissions are different, adding that members of ministerial committees are not given any allowances.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has established two commissions and two committees; a ‘presidential action committee’ and an investigative committee to review shelter programs run by the previous ministry.

The two commissions are the president’s inquiry commission into deaths and enforced disappearances, and the commission to retrieve misappropriated state assets.
