The President’s Office has appointed a new deputy commissioner of prisons to the Maldives Correctional Service.
The President’s Office said on Wednesday that Ibrahim Mohamed Didi was appointed to the position, replacing previous deputy commissioner Hassan Zilal.
Mohamed Didi’s appointment has been met with criticism on Twitter, with some users accusing him of violating the rights of inmates and other prison rules.
The President’s Office appointed a new commissioner of prisons on December 25th.
