MDP will ensure judicial reform: Nasheed
Nasheed said that the People’s Majlis has an important role to play in bringing about this reform

Government coalition partner, the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), will ensure judicial reform and review of the justice system, former president Mohamed Nasheed has said.
Nasheed, the party’s founder, said this while speaking at an event to launch the campaign of a candidate contesting in the MDP’s primary elections.
Nasheed further said that the People’s Majlis has an important role to play in bringing about this review and reform, and that he has full confidence that MDP’s candidates will be committed to doing so if they are elected.
“No one has any reason to doubt this, our candidates in the 19th parliamentary sitting, will reform the judiciary, God willing”, Nasheed said.
Nasheed also said that acts of corruption will ‘undoubtedly’ be reduced, if not completely eradicated, entirely if MDP receives a majority in parliament.
MDP is to field candidates for all constituencies for the upcoming parliamentary elections, and their primary vote has been scheduled for January.
The Elections Commission has scheduled the People’s Majlis elections for April 6th.
