The Maldivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is to be a host a temporary ‘biometric’ clinic for German Schengen visas.
The clinic will be managed by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany and operate form 08:00am to 6:00pm for two days in January, 2019.
While the clinic will only be open from 27th January to 28th January, the ministry has said that any increased demand will be accommodated for.

“This Biometric Clinic aims ease the difficulties Maldivians face while applying for Visas to travel to Germany”, the Foreign Ministry says.
The ministry further says that the clinic is a sign of increased bilateral ties between Maldives and Germany.
Schengen countries include 26 sovereign states: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
