President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has presented Aishath Mohamed Didi her letter of appointment as Ambassador of India.
The appointment comes a day before President Solih is scheduled to travel to India on his maiden state visit.
The President also appointed three Ministers of State at the ceremony held on Saturday evening.
- Ali Nazeer as Minister of State for Home Affairs
- Ahmed Shareef as Minister of State for Finance
- Ahmed Adil as Minister of State for Transport and Civil Aviation
While the President had sent a total of 18 names for ambassador posts, eight were approved by parliament last week. The remaining three names were sent after, and parliament is yet to take a vote on it.
