Local telecommunications provider Ooredoo Maldives has introduced “Masveringe Package” in commemoration of “Fishermen’s Day” 2018.

The package commemorating Fishermen’s day, is customized to accommodate to the requirements of local fishermen and offers exciting allowances and services.

As such, the package offers unlimited, free calls within the local fishing community.

It also offers exciting data allowances as well as free Viber and Twitter usage.

The package, launched at a special function to mark the day held on Wednesday by Minister of Fisheries and Agriculture Zaha Waheed and Regional Manager of Sales at Ooredoo aims at providing the opportunity for unlimited free calls and SMS with select relatives and colleagues for customers.

“Masveringe Package” is available for all registered fishermen and may be operated after entering a four-digit code. The package automatically adds all subscribers to a closed user group providing free calls and texts.

Ooredoo since its establishment, has been providing services in complete efficiency and affordability for its customers, says the company’s CEO Najeeb Khan.

“Since its initiation, Ooredoo has been a close associate of local fishermen. In their work, fishermen have to spend a lot of time away from their families. Through our package, fishermen will now be able to feel connected to their families during their long trips away and will be able to maintain relationships through telecommunication. We hope that the introduction of this package will make life efficient for fishermen. Our company always focuses on promoting and investing in the fishing industry. We appreciate the hard work of local fishermen to uphold the industry’s fame” said Khan.

National Fishermen’s Day is celebrated annually in the Maldives in December to celebrate and honor local fishermen and the industry, which plays a vital role in the country’s economy alongside Tourism.
