President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is to travel to Ukulhas island of Alif Alif atoll on Monday.

The island’s council President Shaukath Ibrahim stated that the President will be arriving at the island close to 09:30 am on Monday morning, and is set to return back to capital city Male’ at 01:30 pm the same day.

RaajjeMV understands that President Solih is set to launch the island council’s official website during the trip.

President Solih will be meeting with island residents, council members, business owners as well as officials at institutions during his one-day visit.

While President Solih is set to visit Ukulhas, an island with a majority of Maldivian Democratic Party  (MDP) supporters, on Monday, MDP had held its national congress in the island to present him with the party ticket to contest in the Presidential Election held in September. Ukulhas was also the third island to be visited by former President Mohamed Nasheed after his return from self-exile in November.
