Local businessman Hussain Hilmee has been arrested under a court order.

RaajjeMV understands that Hilmee was apprehended over a dishonoured cheque.

Hilmee has been ordered to pay a sum of over MVR 2 million to former defence minister Mohamed Nazim.

However, it is unclear if Hilmee had paid the sum as per the court order.

Hilmee is a former minister and a shareholder of Sunland Holdings, which operates tourist resorts in the Maldives.
