United Nations delegates in the Maldives have called on Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid.
Details of the meeting, which took place at the Ministry were publicized by the ministry’s official twitter account on Monday.

At the meeting, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative to the Maldives, Shoko Noda was accompanied by representative of the World Health Organization, Dr. Arvind Mathur and representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Mr. Mohamed El Munir A. Safieldin.

This meeting comes at a time Maldives relations with the UN had soured during President Abdulla Yameen's administration, which had ignored declarations by UN regarding its human rights abuses.
